Meg Harrington - 1st Voice: Meg Harrington is a 2nd Year English student at Teddy Hall. She is Welsh and nerdy, so Under Milk Wood has been her favourite thing for as long as she can remember. She is an old hand at garden plays (Virgilia in Coriolanus, HT '16; Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, TT'16; Matthew in Threepenny Opera HT '17), and is also well acquainted with the terrible heating system at the BT (Sarah in Playwright, NWF '16; Tessa in Narkissos, NWF '17; Crow in The Nightingale and the Rose HT '16) and the surprisingly good one at St Peter's Chapel (Jean in Naked is the Realm MT '16). This term, she is also performing in two O’Reilly productions (Dear Brutus and Henry IV Part I). She also works hard on her degree, honest.
Conrad Will - Captain Cat: Making his debut at Oxford, Conrad is a first year at University College reading History and Politics. Before coming to Univ, Conrad appeared frequently at the Assembly Halls Theatre in Tunbridge Wells, with notable productions including The Kids Are Alright and Bugsy Malone. At school, he played Macduff in Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Beelzebub in Marlowe’s Faustus, and co-directed a stage adaptation of Orwell’s Animal Farm (The Skinners’ School, 2013-15). Having trained with professional actor Ian Drysdale frequently over the past few years, Conrad hopes to further his career on stage (or garden) at Oxford and looks forward to playing Captain Cat in this adaptation of Thomas’s radio masterpiece.
Luke Malone - Mog Edwards / Dai Bread / Mrs Cherry Owen / 4th Drowned / Ocky Milkman: Luke is delighted that ‘Under Milk Wood’ will be his first drama production here in Oxford. He has been involved in amateur dramatics since a young age appearing in numerous school plays and completing an A-Level in ‘Theatre Studies’. Highlights include ‘She Loves Me’ at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and ‘Twelfth Night’ and ‘Grease’ in Exeter.
Francis Kerrigan - 2nd Voice: Francis Kerrigan is a second year English student at Univ. Hailing from Edinburgh, he is generally considered affable and benign. His free time is mostly wasted, but he enjoys football, scenic walks and the pub. His theatrical experience includes an appearance in cuppers drama and writing and acting in the Univ Revue two years running.
Anousha Al-Masud - Rosie Probert / Lily Smalls / Mrs Dai Bread One / First Woman: Anousha is a second year at St Catz reading French and Spanish. Always having a love for the theatre, Anousha made her debut on the Oxford Stage in The Nightingale and the Rose at the BT studios, HT17. It's fun and a great way to meet people. Before flying away on her year abroad next year, Anousha is incredibly excited to be involved with the adaption of Thomas' quirky and stunning radio drama, 'Under Milk Wood' and looks forward to be working alongside a talented cast playing characters such as Rosie Probert and Lily Smalls in the enchanting University college gardens.
Mati Warner - NoGood Boyo / Organ Morgan / Willy Nilly / Mr Pritchard: Mati is a 1st year English student at Univ, and took part in various plays at school as well as doing LAMDA grades. At Oxford she has played an eccentric grandmother in 'Morality Bites' for Cuppers (BT - 2016), and, conversely, a ten year-old in ‘Dear Brutus’ (O’Reilly - 2017), as well as taking part in the Univ Revue (2017). She’s very excited about playing a variety of characters in ‘Under Milk Wood’, and to embrace her organ playing/ husbanding/ generally quite laddish sides.
Tom Fisher - Mr Waldo / Jack Black / Mr Ogmore / Butcher Beynon / Second boy: Tom is a second year at Univ reading Philosophy, Politics and Economics. Before coming to Univ, he appeared in several pieces of new writing as part of the Watermill Young Company, as well as productions of David Copperfield, You Can’t Take it With You, and played Orsino in a musical version of Twelfth Night. At Oxford, he has continued to perform Shakespeare, appearing as the King of France/Gower/Erpingham in Henry V (Corpus Auditorium, MT ’16), Ross in Macbeth (JdP, HT ’17), and will play both the titular character and his nemesis Aufidius in Coriolanus (Worcester Gardens, 7th Week TT ’17), although he’s looking forward to performing a more recent linguistic masterpiece on home turf.
Emelye Moulton - Mrs Pugh / Bessie Bighead / Mrs Beynon / Third Drowned / First Neighbour: Emelye is a first year music student at Univ. So far in her time at Oxford she has been involved in two musicals and is a member of The Oxford Gargoyles, a jazz a cappella group. She is very excited to be performing in her first university play and is particularly enjoying the new and unique experience of playing a bunch of batty old women.
Malin Hay - Miss Price / Mrs Willy Nilly / Mrs Organ Morgan / Second Drowned / Second Neighbour: Malin Hay is a first-year English student at Univ. Her interests include detective fiction, hair-cutting, and the Aardman Animations feature film Chicken Run (2000). In Hilary she took part in the Univ Revue 2017, but she is excited to be in her first play in Oxford.
Katie Knight - Gossamer Beynon / Mrs Ogmore Pritchard / Mother / Fourth Woman: Katie Knight is a first year reading Classics at Univ. This is her second dramatic outing at Oxford, having performed in Univ drama cuppers' performance of Morality Bites as a mugger (a slightly different role!) Aside from acting, she is a keen writer and has participated in the Turl Street and Somerville Arts Festivals. Appreciating the lyricism of Thomas' Under Milk Wood, she looks forward to approaching the roles of Gossamer Beynon and Mrs Ogmore-Pritchard and having the chance to perform again within the walls of her own college.
Albert McIntosh - Mr Pugh / Cherry Owen / Evans the Death / Third Boy: Albert is a first year physics student studying at Oriel College. Since coming to Oxford he has acted as Birdboot in The Real Inspector Hound (BT Studio, MT16), for which he was nominated for Cuppers’ Best Actor, and Alfie in London Road (Keble O’Reilly, HT17). He has also played Ratty in The Wind in the Willows (Oxford Playhouse, Summer 2016), The Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland (Oxford Playhouse, Summer 2015) and The Lord of the Flies in Lord of the Flies (Oxford Playhouse, Summer 2013). Aside from drama, his other interests include cats, studying the physics of time, and listening to the passage of that time.
Adam Diaper - Eli Jenkins / Mrs Dai Bread 2 / Atilla Rees / First Drowned: Adam graduated in History and English from Merton College, Oxford in 2015 and is now reading for an MSt in Literature and Arts at Kellogg College. He has been a keen Oxford ‘thesp’, having acted in 11 student productions with parts including: Max in The Homecoming (Pilch Studio, HT ’17), Malvolio in Twelfth Night (Worcester College Gardens, TT ’16), Hector Benbow in Thark (Pilch Studio, MT ’16); and Rosencrantz in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (Corpus Christi Auditorium, TT ’14). Beyond the university, Adam has also had roles in two productions at the Oxford Playhouse: Sir Mortimer in Mary Stuart (March ’15); and Guildenstern in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (March ’16). Adam is also a keen director, having directed four student shows: The Sun (Christ Church Cathedral, MT ’16), The Comedy of Errors (Merton College Gardens, TT ’14); Phèdre (Merton Chapel, HT ’13); and Private Lives (BT Studio, MT ’12). In 2014 to mark the 450th anniversary of the bard’s birth he organized and co-ordinated the Oxford University Shakespeare Festival, which included various student shows, concerts and readings, as well as lectures and workshops with academics and theatre professionals.
Genevieve Arnaud - Polly Garter / Little Girl / Mae-Rose Cottage / fifth Drowned / Third Woman: Genevieve is a first year studying PPE at St John’s, and in order to distract herself from the misery of her subject, enjoys singing, acting, running, socialising… anything that doesn’t involve her course. To this end, she appeared in the production of London Road in Hilary Term, and has performed in the Edinburgh Fringe twice. Despite having acted in some fairly strange locations, including a BBC re-enactment held in the house of a child abductor, Genevieve has never performed outside, and is looking forward to playing multiple characters, with the primary role of Polly Garter, in her first garden play.
Alex Rugman - Lord Cutglass / Sinbad / Utah Watkins / Little Boy: Alex is a first year History student at New College, who has acted from an early age at school. Since coming to Oxford he has participated in a few student productions so far, including Collaborators (HT17), Proper Conduct (HT17) and Blavatsky's Tower (TT17). He cannot wait to bring to life 'Under Milk Wood', and is excited to do his first garden play.
